Danja Describes New "Circus" Tracks

Danja, producer for several tracks off "Blackout" ("Gimme More," "Break The Ice," "Get Naked"), describes a few of the new songs he's worked on with Britney for her 6th studio album "Circus" to Remixmag.com.

"I like that cinematic sound," Danja says. "I got a couple of tracks on Britney's [upcoming album] that sound like action sequences from The Mummy 3 or something, just bits and pieces of horn hits that make it sound dramatic."

"I'm in tune with certain chords that make you feel a certain way," the producer continues. "I know how to grab your emotions. I know what to play in whatever order to bring those feelings forth. This is a universal language. I'm learning how to capture those feelings and inject them into my music. I'm learning how to make you feel what I feel."

As for Danja's thoughts on Circus? "Way harder than Blackout."

Britney Spears is in negotiations to headline a six show singing extravaganza the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas.
According to The National Enquirer, a Hollywood dinner on May 8th was just one in series of meetings between the pop and the Maloof Brothers, who own the famed Palms.
“Britney is working very hard to get in shape and hopes to make a splashy comeback in Las Vegas,” says an Enquirer snitch. “She wants the show to be full of high energy and flashy costume changes.”
Britney could be in for a $10 million payday if the singer’s management team can convince the Maloofs to hire her. If those shows are sell-outs, the former teen idol could be land a longer contract for performances.

BRITNEY SPEARS' number one hits have been turned into art pieces for a new Arizona exhibition. Current and former Arizona State University graduate students have created a series of mixed media exhibits inspired by 11 Spears chart-toppers.

The Number Ones show, which opens on Friday (02May08) at the LAS Gallery in Phoenix, will feature video, photographic and mixed media inspired by Spears' biggest hits.

One piece, a sexy apron made from a lace tablecloth, was inspired by 2000 hit Oops!... I Did It Again. Artists Mindy Sue Meyers, who admits to being a big fan of the troubled pop superstar, says, "The stitching on the apron offers a different identity to what would be a normal, homemaker apron."

This is a duality that I think Britney has struggled with since she became a pop star."
For another exhibit, inspired by Spears' first hit ...Baby, One More Time, artist Nick DeFord has depicted a smiling Spears using black and blue push pins on a corkboard.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Oops! ... She may be doing it again. Britney Spears is in talks to reprise her highly rated and critically praised guest-starring role on the CBS sitcom "How I Met Your Mother," TV Guide magazine's Web site reported on Wednesday.

TVGuide.com cited multiple sources as saying producers are seeking her return for at least one more episode as a dermatology office assistant named Abby, who falls for the show's lead character, Ted, played by Josh Radnor.

The report quoted one insider as saying, "It all depends on her availability."

Spears' appearance on "Mother" last month drew 10.6 million viewers -- up from its season-to-date average of 7.8 million, according to Nielsen Media Research.

Her performance also elicited mostly positive reviews, providing the singer with a rare bit of upbeat publicity amid a torrent of marital, health and legal woes in recent years. And she said in a statement issued weeks ago while shooting her scenes that she was "having a blast."

It was her first prime-time acting role since she made a guest spot in March 2006 playing a Christian conservative talk show host on "Will & Grace."

She’s been offered the lead part in a London play after her successful sitcom appearance…
Britney Spears could be heading to the UK after being offered an acting job on the West End stage.
The Star reports that the troubled popstar has been offered the lead role in a London production of A Streetcar Named Desire.
This week her cameo appearance in sitcom How I Met Your Mother aired and doubled the shows’ ratings. Britney even received good reviews from US critics.

A theatre source told the newspaper they want her for the character of Blanche DuBois whose character parallel’s Spears’ own problems.

Gone are the pink wigs, ratty hair and fake british accent the world has come to associate with Britney Spears.

In their place, a fresh faced, natural brunette who has been reporting to work, making regular visits with her sons and seems in general, to be focused on taking her life back.

On March 24, the once reigning pop star made a highly anticipated cameo appearance on the CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother. Her performance was so good, she managed to wow not only the audience, but her co-stars as well.

"The only thing scandalous about this is how un-scandalous it all is," says HIMYM co-star, Josh Radnor, of Britney's appearance on the show.

Playing Abby, the nerdy receptionist, the bit part is just one of the baby steps the singer seems bent on taking to get back in fighting form. As she begins to rediscover herself, she seems to also be rediscovering her love for dance.

In addition to teaching kids at Millennium Dance Complex, the singer has been rehearsing alone, stopping in for two hours at a time to learn a chair routine for her new song, Hot as Ice. Sources say Britney may even want to open her own dance studio in the future and is considering The Dome, a 25oo sq. foot section of Millennium, currently closed.

Even Brit's father, Jamie Spears, seems to be loosening up on his rules---a bit.

"Britney is addicted to driving," An insider tells OK!. "Initially, her father wouldn't let her drive at all, but he knows how much she loves it and it calms her, so he's softened the restriction. He now lets her toodle around the block in her gated community."

Hip-hop star Fabolous is helping Britney Spears get her pop career back on track - he's recorded a song for her forthcoming album. The Trade It All rapper was recently called into the studio to record his part of the song, but admits he was a little disappointed when he found out Spears wasn't going to be attending the session herself.

He tells MTV.com, "I didn't get to kick it with (Spears), but the people from her record label was on top of that..."

And after all her personal troubles at the start of 2008, Fabolous hopes she will soon be back to her best: "I don't know what condition Britney is in right now. New reports claim that Break The Ice will be released in America while Hot As Ice will be released in Europe.

Despite media reports that “Hot As Ice” was Britney’s next single, it now seems that “Break The Ice” will be the song the world will be listening to for the next few months.

A promo CD has been sent out, including the album version and instrumental. Unfortunately, there’s no radio edit, which I think the song needs to be a single.

Another hint that it’s the next single is that the song jumped 201 places in a day to #91 on the Mediabase US radio airplay chart.

Note that the single cover isn’t confirmed, but the one above was added to eBay shortly after the CDS leaked.

In a phone call to Barbara Walters, Britney Spears' pal Sam Lutfi revealed that the pop singer "is starting some kind of treatment" for "mental issues," the talk show host announced on The View Monday.

"There is a man named Sam Lutfi, who is the manager and very good friend of Britney," Walters told the audience. "He has been staying with her constantly.

"He got in touch with us... I can't vouch for this... He seemed to be very knowledgeable and he certainly was very nice.

"He said Britney was suffering from what he describes as mental issues which are treatable.

"He said that she has been to a psychiatrist and ... I assume she is starting some kind of treatment.

"She has been having mood swings. She has been having some kind of trouble sleeping."

Walters said that Lutfi also claims Spears — who hasn't seen her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James in three weeks since she lost visitation rights — "is in touch with her mother — because we had heard that she wasn't — and her mother [Lynne, who arrived in L.A. late Sunday] has been very supportive of whatever it is that Britney is trying to do.

"I said, 'Can I discuss this on the air?' And he said, 'Yes.'"

Man, Oprah Winfrey isn't having much luck with doctors lately, is she? First she had a plastic surgeon named Dr. Jan Adams guest on her show--the same scandal-ridden scalpel-man who later adminstered that fateful, allegedly fatal operation on Kanye West's mother, Donda. (This week's L.A. Coroner's report on Donda was inconclusive, by the way.) And now Oprah's longtime crony Dr. Phil McGraw is getting flak over his own involvement in an almost equally tragic hospital case, that of Britney Spears.

It all started innocently enough, when Spears family matriarch Lynne invited the tough-talking celebrity shrink to visit Britney at Cedars-Sinai last weekend, where the troubled pop star was being sequestered for observation after a bizarre child-custody standoff with police on January 3. Now, Mama Spears could have phoned up any professional in L.A.'s admittedly saturated mental-health market, but of course she just had to choose the one she'd seen on the tee-vee, the one famous for colorful colloquialisms like "you don't need tight-fitting pants to laminate your shirt" and "you don't need a porcupine to tickle a gypsy." (Okay, okay we admit we got those sayings from a funny time-wasting site called the "Dr. Phil Random Quote Generator" and that Dr. Phil never actually uttered those specific words...but you get our point.)

So anyway, Dr. Phil made this housecall as a favor to Britney's beleaguered mother, who's got her hands full right now with one daughter who's knocked-up (Jamie) and one who's cracked-up (Britney). But then the infamously mouthy McGraw started blabbing to the press about this supposedly private visit, much to the chagrin of Lynne's business manager, Lou Taylor.

"The family basically extended an invitation of trust for him to come in as a resource to support them, not to go out and make public statements," an irate Lou said Wednesday on The Today Show. "Any statement publicly that he made, because he was brought in under this cloak of trust, [is] just inappropriate...he was not invited to make this part of a public display or part of the media."

Dr. Phil has since cancelled his (seemingly self-serving) plan to shoot a Britney-themed episode of his talk show, though he insists that the episode was originally her family's idea--a claim substantiated by Britney's own manager, Sam Lufti. In the doc's typical outspoken manner, Dr. Phil defended his controversial actions by declaring on Entertainment Tonight, "Somebody needs to step up and get this young woman into some quality care--and I do not apologize one whit, not one second, for trying to make that happen." After today's brief deposition, Kevin Federline's lawyer entered Britney's house shortly before 8pm, followed by 4 LAPD cop cars!
Us reports that police were called in when Britney refused to turn the kid's over to Kevin's bodyguards.
Not long after their arrival, photogs spotted Brit's friend Sam entering her Beverly Hills compound.
In addition to the cop cars, 3 LAPD police helicopters arrived around 10 pm, and are circling overhead, searching the grounds with spotlights. The Fire Department is on the scene as well!

Update:

Sources on the ground are telling X17 that Britney has locked herself and her two young boys, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, inside her house and is refusing to let anyone in.
As we reported earlier, there are 3 LAPD choppers overhead training their searchlights on the ground, as well as numerous police vehicles and fire rescue on the scene.
This is clearly a very serious situation, and we do hope that no one is hurt!

Pop starlet and troubled tabloid favorite Britney Spears, and her one-year-old son, were taken from her home by paramedics Friday, celebrity website TMZ reported, after police had been called to resolve a custody dispute.

TMZ said Spears had been taken to a hospital for a "medical hold," which it described as a mental evaluation.

Police "found her earlier this evening at her home under the influence of an 'unknown substance'," after being called when she returned her two young sons to their father.

After a three-hour stand-off, TMZ said Spears handed over the children, aged two and one, and was wheeled into an ambulance. Television footage showed a smiling Spears being carried on a gurney.

TMZ reported that the youngest of her children, Jayden James, was also taken away in an ambulance, but gave no further details.

Spears's on-going custody battle with her former husband, Kevin Federline, has been the source of lurid headlines, spiking after a judge limited her access to her children in October.

The drama comes after a difficult year for Spears, who in 2007 spent a month in a rehabilitation hospital, lost custody of her children and was slammed in the media for her partying and erratic behavior. And in December, her 16-year-old actress sister -- a star in her own right -- announced she was pregnant.

She released an album to surprisingly good reviews, but did not tour or promote it.

Two ambulances left Britney's house bound for Cedars-Sinai -- one transporting Britney, the other had two-year-old Jayden James in it!

Pandemonium Outside Brit's Madhouse

"Chaotic" doesn't even begin to describe the clusterf**k that went on around Britney Spears' home tonight as the popwreck was taken away to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in an ambulance.

TMZ was there -- and man was it crazazy!!! Our cameras also caught Sean Preston being taken away in a black VW.

TMZ has learned Sean Preston and Jayden James were turned back over K-Fed tonight just before 11:00 PM PT.

We're told that while cops were at the troubled pop star's home, they discovered Spears "under the influence of an unknown substance."

Cops Called to Brit's House for "Custody Dispute"

TMZ has confirmed that LAPD has been called to Britney Spears' house in Beverly Hills for what we're being told is a "family custody dispute."

LAPD tells us the call came in around 8:00 PM PT this evening, but they would not tell us who made the call or what the specific problem was. Officers, we're told, are still on scene.

Spears, who was nearly two hours late for today's scheduled deposition in her custody case, was reportedly scheduled to have her sons tonight until 7:00 PM.

UPDATE: Us is reporting K-Fed's bodyguards went to pick up Sean and Jayden at Britney's home this evening after her scheduled visitation, but Spears refused to turn the kids over. Police were then called. Britney's soon-to-be ex- attorney Sorrell Trope told the mag, "In a normal case when someone shows up with a certified court order saying the kids need to be somewhere else, the police see to it that the order is obeyed. But that is in a normal case."

Officers were called at 8 p.m. and were still at the house two hours later, said Officer Jason Lee, a police spokesman.

The call involved a "family custodial dispute that we are trying to resolve ... peacefully by court order," Lee said, declining to elaborate.

An Associated Press photographer outside the gates of the residence saw six police cars, an ambulance and a fire truck enter around 10:30 p.m. A dispatcher with the fire department referred calls to the police department.

Spears and ex-husband Kevin Federline are fighting over custody of their sons, 2-year-old Sean Preston and 1-year-old Jayden James.

Federline, 29, has temporary custody of the children because Spears, who has limited visitation rights, has defied court orders. The two were married in October 2004 and divorced in July.

Calls to attorneys for Federline and Spears were not immediately returned.

Earlier Thursday, the 26-year-old singer appeared for a deposition in the custody dispute.

She was deposed for just 14 minutes, attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan told reporters after she left

Spears called in sick for a Dec. 12 court-ordered deposition, but was photographed that day driving with a friend. She also didn't show up for a session Wednesday, Kaplan said.

Spears' attorneys from the firm Trope and Trope on Wednesday filed a court motion asking to be relieved due to a "breakdown" in communication with their client.

Kaplan said Spears' attorneys were present for what became a very abbreviated session.

"The deposition proceeding did go forward today. It was scheduled for 9:45 to 11:45," Kaplan said. "However, it wasn't able to commence until 11:32."

"You can imagine in 14 minutes there's not a lot of time to develop questions," he said.

Kaplan said another deposition would be scheduled.

Police were called to Britney Spears' home in a custodial dispute that lasted for nearly three hours before the intoxicated singer reportedly turned over her children to ex-husband Kevin Federline.

Officers were called to the Los Angeles home at about 8pm (1500 AEDT) today, and the 26-year-old singer turned over the children around 10.50pm (1750 AEDT), said police spokesman Officer Jason Lee.

Aerial footage from local television stations showed Spears being lifted into an ambulance on a trolley. It was unclear where she was being taken.

Lee said Spears was under the influence of an unknown substance, and no injuries were reported.

The incident involved a family dispute that police worked to resolve "peacefully by court order'', he said.

Britney Rushed To Hospital After Custody Showdown!

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Britney Spears was taken to a Los Angeles hospital early on Friday, after police spent about four hours at her house trying to mediate a custody dispute, according to witnesses.

The 26-year-old pop singer was escorted from her hilltop home overlooking Beverly Hills in one of three ambulances that was part of a convoy of nine police vehicles and a handful of other cars.

News web site TMZ.com said Spears was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for an evaluation, and made a rude hand gesture to paparazzi as she was brought out of the ambulance on a gurney. One of her two sons was also at the hospital. A spokeswoman for the hospital declined to comment, and an officer at the Los Angeles Police Department had no information.

Spears reportedly refused to turn over her sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, to the bodyguard of her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, as planned at 7 p.m. PST on Thursday (0300 GMT Friday). LAPD spokesman Jason Lee said police were called to her house about an hour later to try to resolve the dispute.

Spears, whose professional and private life has spiralled out of control in the last few years, lost primary custody of the boys in October.
