Britney Spears and X17online are currently running a charity auction in which one lucky fan can bid to own an autographed Britney Spears Blackout CD. Auction details indicate that the Princess of Pop autographed both the insert and the CD in black permanent marker.
Charity Case: Beleaguered Britney Spears hopes she can still bring in the big bucks for a good cause.Sadly the auction provides little other details and is offered by eBay seller "x17online" who currently has a zero feedback score. Despite the fact that the auction is opened only to pre-approved bidders, is sponsored by MissionFish and that all proceeds will benefit The U.S. Fund for UNICEF, we will be watching the action closely.
Recent celebrity auctions, including a car owned by Red Sox slugger David Ortiz, wound up with lots of bogus bids. So, it will be interesting to see just how many of the 93 bids that pushed the price up to $7,300 are legit bids from serious buyers.
Still, with the Spears name and charity attached to the auction listing, we're sure many will open their wallets to own this little piece of pop music history.
