No Britney spears or Paul Mccartney On American Idol 7!!

Every year there are always a ton of rumors that surface in regards to celebrity guest appearances on American Idol. During a recent conference call with media, American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe faced the obvious questions of which celebrities would be appearing on the upcoming season.

One of the celebrities that seems to be rumored every single year is Paul McCartney. Lythgoe was quick to put an end to that rumor and told press in regards to McCartney doing American Idol 7, “No, he’s not.” However, Lythgoe professed to keeping his fingers crossed for a Beatles theme night.

In addition to Paul McCartney, another celebrity name that can be struck off the list is Britney Spears. When Lythgoe was asked if he would have Spears on the show, he said “I would have had Britney Spears last year for sure, when I thought she was trying to get it all back together again. Britney, at this moment in time, I don’t think is well enough to do anything, and I think she needs looking after, rather than being pushed in front of cameras or pushing herself in front of cameras. I think that she needs to get herself together, bless her. I think that she’s an exceptionally talented girl and was extremely professional, and I think she needs taken care of right now.”

Even though McCartney or Spears may not be on the list, Lythgoe did promise “We’ve inked two that I’m absolutely thrilled with.” Who are the two celebrity mentors that thrill Lythgoe? Let the rumors begin. BIG DEAL? DUH
